I think the online stuff is going quite well, most people like the idea of a text to their mobile and then an online survey. Maybe about half of those I just knock twice and leave a reminder card. I did about 120 addresses over 8hrs 30 mins so far so it's not bad going. Also I've asked adults if they're adult too since some people look like kids. I've been told to come back later by quite a few people, including zoomer teens top kek. It was lucky that a neighbour came out and calmed him down. Then kept going on about the fine and the government (started to envision me as the fine giver) he seemed not that well balanced. Had one guy get close to being aggressive, didn't know what the census was and refused to come to the door, then objected when I put a census reminder card through his door as it mentions a fine.
No one has mentioned covid to me on the doorstep, although one older lady, didn't come out from behind her door, but handed me her completed questionnaire through the letter box. The elderly do mostly want paper questionnaires, there are quite a lot of old whiteoids in my area.
